It’s a potent antioxidant that protects the skin from free radicals, the unstable molecules that contribute to the formation of premature wrinkles and fine lines on the skin. We’ve been hearing for years that Vitamin C is the best anti-aging ingredient. These ingredients should all be part of your skincare routine. Vitamin C, peptides, and retinol make up the core ingredients for the IT Cosmetics skincare line. Here’s a closer look at the active ingredients commonly used in the IT Cosmetics skincare products. One brand is Carrot & Stick, a clean skincare brand that perfectly balances the gentle nurturing of plants with the powerful results of innovative science.Ĭarrot & Stick intro bundles deliver great value for money because you can bundle 3 full-size products worth up to $240 for $88. In our opinion, IT Cosmetics products are worth the money, but there are other brands that deliver greater value. ![]() What are the Best Skin Care Products of 2023? Is IT Cosmetics Skincare Worth The Money?Ī common question about this brand is if the products are worth the cost. Here’s a closer look at IT Cosmetics, what it sells, and are the products right for you? Today the company has been renamed IT Cosmetics and was bought by L’Oréal in 2016 for $1.2 billion. It covered so well that it could even cover tattoos. A turning point for Lima was when she appeared on QVC in 2010 to demonstrate Bye Bye Under Eye, a concealer that some users also applied as a foundation. ![]() The result was Innovative Technology Cosmetics. Lima felt she couldn’t find a product that suited her needs, so she decided to create her own makeup. This former television anchor was often at work at midnight to prep for the morning news, and she needed a foundation that would be long lasting and cover up her rosacea- all under the harsh glare of studio lights and unforgiving HD television. In the case of IT cosmetics founder Jamie Kern Lima, her story is firmly in the necessity camp. Some foundations show up ashen, while others come off too red or make me look orange, which is less than ideal.Skincare and makeup brands are often born out of necessity, or by accident. I’ve also had challenges accurately matching my skin tone, which has neutral, slightly golden undertones. ![]() In the past, I’ve had issues with full-coverage formulas making me look mask-like (or breaking me out completely), and CC creams not doing enough to make a difference. It's also worth noting that the brand offers a few other iterations of this CC cream, including one that contains light-reflective pigments for an extra glow, as well as an oil-free version for a matte finish. I think this contributed to why my skin liked it-it was hydrating but not oily and felt nourishing to my skin. Speaking of built-in ingredients, this product also acts as a primer, which is nice because it eliminates an extra step (especially for someone who’s lazy like me). While it definitely won’t replace my sunscreen (shoutout to Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen) it’s nice to know that there’s an extra layer of built-in protection. This product also has broad-spectrum mineral SPF 50 protection, thanks to zinc oxide and titanium dioxide. Packed with good-for-the-skin ingredients like hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, and collagen, it felt like an extra dose of skincare and hydration in my makeup, which I always appreciate. One of the things I liked most about this product is its formula. Given this, from what I’d seen, IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream seemed like it might be a great fit for my daily routine. When I do wear makeup, I like to use just enough to even out my skin tone without making it totally obvious that I’m wearing anything in the first place. On a regular day, I can’t be bothered to do much more than wear a little moisturizer and sunscreen. I’m also pretty lazy and don’t do much by way of makeup or even skincare. My skin type is normal-not super dry or oily-and breakouts are a rare occurrence for me. In terms of my skin, I'd consider myself pretty lucky. ![]() About My Skin: Normal with minimal breakouts The company first gained popularity on the QVC home shopping channel before being acquired by L'Oréal in 2016.
